Admissions

Holy Cross Matriculation Higher Secondary School follows a structured and transparent admission process to ensure academic standards and discipline are maintained.

Admissions are open from *Pre-KG to Higher Secondary (Std I – XII)*, subject to availability of seats.

The admission process includes:

  • Submission of duly filled application form.
  • Personal interaction with parents/guardian and student.
  • Verification of eligibility criteria and age norms.
  • Entrance assessment (for selected higher classes, if required).
  • Confirmation of admission upon approval and payment of prescribed fees.

Admission is granted based on merit, eligibility, and availability of seats. The decision of the school management is final.

The age of the child is calculated as on 31st July of the academic year.

  • Pre-KG / Nursery – As per school norms
  • LKG – 3 Years completed
  • UKG – 4 Years completed
  • Std I – 5 Years completed
  • Other Classes – Corresponding age requirement

Students seeking direct admission must satisfy the age and academic criteria prescribed by the school.

Rules & Regulations

Holy Cross Matriculation Higher Secondary School maintains a disciplined and value-based environment to ensure academic excellence and character development. The following rules are framed to promote order, responsibility, and mutual respect.

Students are expected to be punctual and present before the commencement of classes.

Uniform Regulations

Students must wear the prescribed uniform according to their class category. Uniform must be clean, tidy, and complete with proper footwear. Wearing of ornaments or non-prescribed accessories is strictly prohibited.

Attendance Policy

  • A minimum of *80% attendance* is required for promotion.
  • Absence without prior leave application will be viewed seriously.
  • Students returning after absence must submit a leave letter signed by parents/guardians.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory for academic progress.

Conduct, Discipline & Punctuality

  • Students must attend school in complete and neat uniform.
  • Late coming should be strictly avoided.
  • Respect towards teachers, staff, and fellow students is mandatory.
  • Use of foul language, misbehavior, or insubordination will invite disciplinary action.
  • Gold ornaments and expensive accessories are not permitted.
  • Any damage to school property must be reported immediately.
  • Students must maintain silence while moving between classrooms.

Drawing

Students are encouraged to express their creativity through art and illustration. Drawing activities enhance imagination, visual thinking, and aesthetic sense.

Writing Skills

Special focus is given to developing language proficiency through essay writing, speech competitions, storytelling, and elocution.

Quiz Competitions

Quiz programs enhance general knowledge, analytical thinking, and awareness of current affairs. Students are trained to think quickly and respond accurately.

Drama

Drama and role-play activities help students develop stage confidence, teamwork, expression, and emotional intelligence. It nurtures creativity and public speaking abilities.

Silambam
